We really can't believe how generous people are being! We have been gifted an amazing boat in the form of a rare, Sea Otter.

Sea Otters are unusual in that they have an aluminium hull, instead of a steel one - which means no blacking, and no rust! They are somewhat less robust than steel and lighter - which can be a bit of a drawback but we're not complaining!

NB Stingray has a 2nd reason for being unusual. Not many Sea Otters were made and they are are usually 32 feet. Stingray is 41 feet and believed to be the only one of that length in existence.

She has a rear bedroom and bathroom, a central cockpit, saloon and kitchen area.

She has already been allocated to a veteran and is undergoing repairs.

October  - After a successful work party weekend, NB Stingray's floor has been replaced - rain had got in through the old canopy and it was done for! Carpet and lino have been acquired to cover it, at an extremely knockdown rate, thanks to the fabulous negotiating skills of FVA committee member, Chrissie Ballinger!

The canopy has been replaced with black one you see in the picture, a generous donation from Crazy Monkey Canopies - thank you!

We have also received a fantastic gift from John Lewis Stores - they have donated a full dinner service, cutlery, towels, kitchen utensils, towels, throws and a whole host of things to make NB Stingray really comfortable. Thanks to James, pictured with our volunteer, Sharon Brattan, James and Jess at John Lewis head office, for making it happen.
